Partnerships and Collaborations

Collective action is a key pillar of social change and of achieving justice and equity in our societies; it is crucial to join forces in social movements. That is why, in all our work, we promote alliances, coordination, a sense of belonging, and collective action.

Reaching a consensus among diverse groups is always a challenge; collaboration begins by building bridges and fostering dialogue and exchange to learn about each other’s experiences, perspectives, and aspirations. This allows us to reach a sufficient level of understanding to develop agendas of common interest and take collective action at the local, national, regional, and international levels, while always respecting the autonomy of each organization.

Our countries have been plagued by authoritarian and exclusionary structures for hundreds of years, a reality that, unfortunately, is also reflected in feminist and progressive organizations. That is why we promote democratic forms of organization, prioritizing respectful interpersonal and organizational dynamics, mutual respect, non-discrimination, and the freedom to express diverse and differing ideas and opinions.

Alliances and collaborations go hand in hand with education and training efforts that seek to strengthen activism and leadership through values and behaviors that promote inclusion, equity, and respect for the autonomy of individuals, groups, and organizations. At the same time, we foster dialogue between generations and among people with different identities and from diverse social backgrounds, in order to build alliances and collaborations among different types of groups and communities.

Joint Agenda-Setting

Meetings and sessions to build bridges, foster intergenerational dialogue, and forge alliances around shared agendas among women’s and LGBTIQ+ movements in Central America.

Youth Communicators Network

Following a training process, a network was formed to strengthen ties and enhance communication in the region, drawing on each country’s own contributions and perspectives in order to reach young people and contribute to DKY Digital and the magazine *Miradas Moradas*.

This media outlet is made possible through the collaboration of activists from various Central American groups and organizations, as well as specialists in investigative journalism, digital content, illustration, and the defense of rights. The editorial board, editors, and contributors are made up of people from diverse ethnic and generational backgrounds and with varied identities who share a commitment to feminist values and sexual diversity.

Women’s Network Against Violence

This Nicaraguan network offers support and guidance to groups and activists working to prevent gender-based violence in communities. Members of the Association are founders of the network and have served in leadership roles at various times.

Community Coordination Bodies

In the communities where we conduct training, we encourage and support cross-sectoral coordination to provide assistance to victims of violence, promote self-help, and foster collective support.

Coordination with migrant service providers

Legal advice and humanitarian services in various countries in Central America, Mexico, and Spain, which are available through the MIGRANTES app.

International bodies

La Colmena Global (Global Narrative Hive): This international organization promotes the use of narratives as a tool for driving positive change. It creates community spaces for global movements to work together toward social justice and equality, challenging the notion that expert knowledge is limited to certain regions or entities. The initiative seeks to catalyze a shift in the way knowledge is produced and managed worldwide.

MenEngage Alliance Network: This initiative was created in 2003 to contribute to a more equitable society in terms of masculinities, gender, social participation, and values education. Members of the Association have held leadership roles at the regional level, and we are active participants.
