Our training and capacity-building programs focus on topics, methodologies, and approaches that are relevant to strengthening organizations and social movements.
We want participants—as activists and leaders—to develop their individual and collective potential and abilities to transform their own lives, the groups, organizations, and movements in which they are involved, and the other environments in which they operate.
Based on these processes, participants develop proposals, plans, and agendas aimed at achieving the changes and objectives they have set for themselves.

In both in-person and online programs, we combine experiential learning, theory, and individual and group exercises, always encouraging exchange and dialogue among participants.
Almost all of these processes also include components related to communication for social change, partnerships and coordination, and learning that complement and reinforce capacity-building and training efforts.
Some of our initiatives
Prevention of Violence in Schools
The “My School, a Safe Place” program harnesses the potential of schools to create safe environments by building the capacities of students, their families, educators, and administrative staff. We work in schools in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua.
We engage children and adolescents in processes of inquiry, reflection, and dialogue. We facilitate coordination among different school departments to improve their understanding of violence, prevention, identification, and response. We train students and teaching staff in the “learning by doing” methodology to create stories and videos as tools for empowerment.
We address power dynamics in a comprehensive manner by promoting an inclusive and safe school culture, training educators in gender-sensitive pedagogy, and improving educational practices.

In-person training with leaders and activists
In this line of work, we focus on rebuilding the social fabric and preventing violence and suicide in Central America.
Support for Women Leaders at the Mesoamerican Level
Individual and group support to address and overcome the challenges faced by activists and leaders, with the goal of improving their lives, relationships, and leadership skills.
Training for Migrants
We have launched training programs for migrants, covering topics such as economic empowerment, legal frameworks, and regulations to facilitate integration into host countries, as well as strategies for coping with uprooting, grief, and other psychosocial issues associated with uprooting. To strengthen communication strategies for social change, we provide training to our DKY Central American Network of Correspondents, a regional platform made up of people committed to human rights, feminism, and LGBTIQ+ rights.
